A boy pursuing a passion for music. A girl venturing nearly 5,000 miles from her Hawaiian home to embark on life's next chapter, quite literally, with a flair for book publishing. Both find themselves on the sprawling campus of NYU. But it wasn't until they were yet another 4,000 miles further around the globe during study abroad in Prague, that a mutual friend directed their paths to finally cross. Fast forward 6 years to a proposal surprise that was nearly intercepted by their paths crossing *a little too much*, Julie coincidentally went into her sister's closet (the hiding engagement ring locale) the very day Matt planned to propose. To everyone's delight, the proposal went as planned and, as her Kate Spade necklace notes, she said "Yes"!
And so, what better way to celebrate their love than a photo journey through the very place where the early narrative of their love story was written. Winding our way through Greenwich Village and the many memories they share together there, we started with beer and cupcakes (who doesn't love deliciously beautiful cupcakes?) at the oh-so-charming Sweet Revenge. Stopping at the adorably addressed residence "39 1/2" - a much-loved detail paying homage to Julie's not-so-secret affinity for all things Harry Potter (which might just be making a cameo in some of the details of their wedding day) - we continued our adventure through a few additional NYU area favourites: the serenity of NYU's Law Garden, bustle of Washington Square Park with it's fountain & Washington Arch, and magic of Washington Mews' cobblestone lane - the perfect setting for a little Ray Ban fun.
