One of last year's highlights was the ultra fun late-summer styled bridal shoot that I collaborated on with canopy designer Michelle Friedman of Olam Weddings. So here's the skinny...
Anytime you're putting together a styled shoot, it's important to have a story in mind. Case in point:
*Despite my personal lack of style (I mean, really. It was an 8am call time and 90 degree temps!) and knack for being vertically challenged, we managed to get some beautiful images!*
But the best part? We got some stellar behind the scenes shots... so you can see exactly what goes into a photo. It's magic really :)
And the result? A gorgeous feature on wedding blog Style Me Pretty's main national page AND a spread in UK's Belle Bridal magazine. Delightful!

The shoot
This shoot's theme was a blend of a modern/nostalgic Hollywood. Major inspiration was derived from the songs and looks of Lana Del Rey, the colors of a late summer California sunset, and vintage heirloom jewels recreated in new ways.
The bride (hypothetically)
This was a fun-loving New York City bride through and through. She grew up on the upper east side and had since made her home in the west village. While family heritage was a big part of her life, she also valued her independence and individuality. With a career in fashion, she planned a wedding that reflected her personal style - a party that was modern, chic, and one of a kind that was guaranteed to wow her inner circle.
Combining bright colours, a playful spirit, and stunning vintage pieces, she boldly created a day that matched her fun personality while also offering up a gentle nod to her heritage. Everything was photographed in Brooklyn’s Picnic House in Prospect Park.
