Anna Banana | Central Park Portraits

Two months ago I got an email from someone that made me smile really big...

In the summer of 2006 I paid my way through my last year of college nannying for a really sweet family in Minnesota. We had tons of fun exploring the great outdoors, attending plays, eating Krispy Kremes, building forts, and embracing an affection for batman costumes (for the little brother). But as we said goodbye to hot summer days we said goodbye to each other as well, when the family surprisingly transferred their life to Austin, Texas.

Over the years we would do an email exchange every once in a long while, but suddenly I got word that the mother and daughter were doing a 4 day whirlwind trip to NYC. When the mom asked me if I might like to meet up I could hardly contain my excitement. And the best part, we would keep it a surprise for the daughter, Anna!

So earlier this week, I got the biggest and bestest hug from my not-so-little-anymore Anna Banana. The squeeze lasted forever, and yet not long enough. She was so big! SO beautiful! Truly truly a young lady :) And the afternoon ensued with portraits in Central Park, winding our way through Bethesda Terrace and then down around near Bow Bridge.

Looking through the images later I couldn't stop smiling. That face! What an incredible treat to see how she's grown after all this time :)
