She's brainy, incredibly modest & has impeccable taste... hence Mon-Fri she's officially a digital wiz at Etsy with a knack for making things look ultra charming - ie: their etsy-fied home. Evenings and weekends she moonlights as a talented wedding photographer... hence how we originally met & bonded. And he works on video games... but more like the graphics computer coding back-end stuff that's super smart and makes for an engrossingly epic user experience. If it isn't obvious already, I find both of their stories to be fascinating.
So when she asked if we might plan a photo session documenting their love story (3 years of marriage and counting!), I knew lots of fun details were in store. Theirs is a quiet & tender love filled with gentle nuances so it seemed only fitting to begin our time with their furry baby (ie: Shiba Inu puppy), Ellie, in the solace of their Carroll Gardens brownstone - complete with exposed brick in all of it's characteristic Brooklyn charm. Terrariums, a paper crown, ukelele, Kenneth Grahame's "Dream Days", scrapbooked memories, and dolls from the Japanese computer game Katamari all made cameos throughout our time together... each item serving as a small window into the life they've created. Continuing through the neighborhood they've come to call home, we made stops at Smith Canteen (their go-to iced latte locale every Saturday & Sunday morning), the Carroll St subway station they know all too well, and the adorable escape of The Transit Garden - all the while they blushed like newlyweds as unknowing passerby's called out "Congratulations!' on the street.
